Indianapolis Pipe Organ Festival
“Around the World on 80 Ranks”
Featuring six organists at the 6th annual Indianapolis
Pipe Organ Festival
Indianapolis, Indiana – The
6th annual
Indianapolis Pipe Organ Festival will take place on February 26th, 2012
at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, located at 100 West 96th Street.
The concert begins at 3 p.m. This year’s theme is "Around the World on
80 Ranks" and features music from various countries played by six
members of the Indianapolis Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.
Included in this year’s program is the opportunity for the audience to
participate in a short hymn sing.

Christ Church Cathedral, Indianapolis
Michael T. Messina

Keith Mikesell
Organist, Central Christian Church, Indianapolis
Robert Richter
Assistant Organist/Choirmaster, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church,

Raina Wood, Indianapolis
Organist, Meridian Street United Methodist Church, Indianapolis
Many of our chapter members are superb organists and each year a group
of AGO members are selected to perform at the annual Indianapolis
Pipe Organ Festival. Due
to time constraints for worship services and musical tastes of each
place of worship, organists are sometimes limited in what they can
perform; this is their chance to shine. Our hope is for the community to
gain a greater appreciation for organ music in general and realize the
organ still has a place in today's varied communities. Each year our
audience discovers the versatility of the organ in producing
music--whether it’s from 300 years ago or today’s more contemporary
music.
The Indianapolis Pipe Organ Festival is presented by the Indianapolis
Chapter of the American Guild of Organists; admission the day of the
event is $15 adults, $10 students. Advance
tickets of $10 adults and $5 students are available by ordering tickets
on-line at the chapter’s website, www.indyago.org ;
information can be obtained at the website, by e-mail, or by phone.
Proceeds from this event help fund the chapter’s educational programs
throughout the year including PipeWorks and our Student Organ Encounter.
